This Bag Kicks Ass

It nearly kicked my ass, but I managed to come out on top. It’s Amy Butler’s Weekender Bag. I adore it. It was not very easy to make, well the basic construction is simple but it’s so thick once you’re sewing it together that the joy is sucked out of the room and new curse words are invented.

I’ve been in such a terrible funk since Chico passed away, I wanted to challenge myself to try and learn something new and make something that might be hard for me to do. It was a good distraction and I love it.

Wow that bag is just gorgeous! I can only imagine the concentration and skill it took to master this. I have been making a few Christmas gifts and have made some tote bags that get quit bulky as both the outside fabric and the lining have batting. In fact, while doing a search for bags I came across your site which I will bookmark.

Bonnie, thanks so much for your kind words!! I do enjoy it now that it was done, and while I was making it I loved the challenge but it was a doozy. Anytime you’re dealing with so many layers of batting and interfacing, like you said, it adds extra difficulty. Hope you are having a great time crafting for Christmas
