Surreal. I helped look for the dog, too. (striped skirt, shell-shocked look on face, can't whistle.) I hope it had tags, though any small dog running around the south side of hawthorne with a leash attached wouldn't be mistaken as a stray, so that's good. I'm glad the woman knew she wasn't alone, and surely knew that lots of people were trying to help in many different ways.
