cute lil sweeeeeeeater

How much do I love knitting? Lots. Here’s what I’m working on now. It’s an Anthropologie Inspired Capelet but for a 10 year old. It’s out of fluffy Jiffy yarn, acrylic, but it’s for a kid so it’s gotta be washable. Please notice the adorable puffed sleeves and the cute vintage button closure. Yay!

Just sewed the horns onto the baby brunhilde for my up-and-coming nephew who is due sometime in August. Can’t wait to meet him!

argyle headband

January 16th, 2008 · No Comments

I’ve decided that headbands will be the things that save me from my unmanageable, gigantic, in-between hair. Let’s hope. So this is the first of several (I hope). Lovely vintage angora/lambswool blend yarn, super effin’ cute argyle pattern. I guess I’m about 1/4 of the way done, then I can block it and see if it needs to be lined. Love it!

In other news: why do I always rush when I could just as easily not? I realized that if I would just take one minute, like the minute I took to let my car defrost this morning, to sit and think about things, to weigh my options, I might be in a happier place today. Time to remember to stop and think. MUST. USE. MY BRAIN! That’s what it’s there for right? Not just to be led around by my stupid heart.

unraveling

I have a confession to make. A lot of my online time has been devoted to Ravelry. I’m addicted. I’ve been sneaking Ravelry at work. Don’t look at me like that, I can quit whenever I want, just don’t want to yet. If you are on there too, my username is heidimonkey of course, so don’t be shy!

sweater nearly done

My v neck fitted tee is nearly complete. Just needs some adorable sleeves and it’s good to go. Not an awesome photo, but my arms are not that long and in the absence of a helper…this is the best you get.

I’ll ask for help next time I see another person.

the good the bad and the disarmingly disappointing

October 16th, 2007 · No Comments

Well I’m back from my whirlwind weekend in San Francisco.

Tamara and Bruce’s wedding was lovely and fun, and I had a really good time. Don’t let the title fool ya. Now if I can get my hearing back and stop thinking for just a minute, that’d be great.

I spent 4.5 hours at SFO today before I could actually get on an airplane. At least I knitted the better part of Max Mello’s viking hat (the good). I’m sort of very tired, cranky and sad (the bad). The disappointing is better left unsaid, by me at least.

tiny dog, not tortured by tiny hat

March 16th, 2007 · No Comments

Ok he is probably (definitely) tortured by this, but I had no choice. There was just too much cuteness. I made a bunch of these for my baby niece who is about to be born, and I figured there is no better model than a tiny black and white spotted dog. Sorry, Chico.

current obsession

March 14th, 2007 · No Comments

Alright, not that exciting in white, but just imagine in it in COLOR! Orange and green! Green and orange! Blue! Black! Pink on pink, silver! I’m nuts for this scarfy thingie, just in time for no one to need one anymore! Regardless, if you know of someone who would like one of these, drop me a line, I’ve got a bunch and I’m feeling generous!
